Photo taken 1973

The Greensburg Railroad Station is one of the Historical Landmarks in Westmoreland County Pennsylvania. It was built by William Kaufman in 1911 on Harrison Avenue Greensburg, Pa. It was designed by William Cookman. It is unoccupied at the time. It is still owned by Penn Central Railroad.

In 1849 Greensburg started preparing for trains. The 1st time a train came through the station was November 29, 1852. This photo shows the Great Clock tower that was built on the station.

There was a tunnel built over Main street to accommodate the trains.
The .pdf article from the ARCH website is here. It gives a great description of the building inspection, the report was done in 1977. To learn more about the Greensburg Railroad Station you can click here and under Name Search: put in the keywords Greensburg Railroad Station. The website there also shows an older photo of the way that it looked, but there is no date given on that photo.
