Photos from the Fred Yenerall Collection
Photos Date 1965

Gilpin's Falls bridge, 119 feet long, collapsed in the 1950's, it has been restored, but is not opened to traffic.it was reported in 2006 that it is in need of repair again, it sits in a small roadside park near Bayview, Maryland. The Gilpin Falls bridge is 1 of 2 bridges still standing in Cecil County, the other bridge is Fox Catcher Farms Bridge.

Maryland only has 5 covered bridges still standing today, the State of Maryland is trying to secure funds now to restore these bridges, and to preserve history.
