Fire Destroys Alabama Mill

A 200 year old mill in Madison county Alabama burnt to the ground on March 24, 2007. The grist mill was open from 1919-1959. While they believe that the fire was arson, they do not have proof yet to confirm that.

Its a shame when we lose these historic places, that many people have gone to visit, and photographed. I am glad that the Fred Yenerall and many others had capture many of these fine mills, along with the other historic buildings of era's past on film so that others may look at their beauty.

There is no photo in the Fred Yenerall Collection of this mill. I am just sadden by the news of it burning.
